Bringing contemporary art to over 300 co-working spaces throughout Ireland.
Art in the Hubs is a programme designed by the CIAS, partnering with ConnectedHubs.
Last year, we recognised that the over 300 regional co-working spaces of the ConnectedHubs.ie network would be a great beneficiary of a collaboration with the CIAS to provide art to these community co-working spaces. By loaning art from the CIAS collection to these spaces, we foster the building of community-curated collections that will inspire whole communities of all ages, abilities and interests and expand the remit of hubs beyond just office spaces to creative inspiriting community spaces.
Launched in March with a pilot scheme, providing art to 7 hubs across 4 counties, shortlisted for a Business to Arts Award in September 2023, we are now ready for national rollout with the continued support of the ConnectedHubs.ie (part of the Western Development Commission) and our four corporate sponsors; Midland Steel, .IE, HR Locker and BDO.

Mary Pavlides, Chairperson, CIAS:
“We are delighted to team up with ConnectedHubs.ie for this programme. In CIAS, we are motivated by a desire to get contemporary visual art out into the community, into buildings where people can enjoy and engage with the work.
The prospect of extending the programme nationwide really excites us as it resonates completely with our mission. We are grateful to the Department of Rural and Community Development and ConnectedHubs.ie for the enthusiasm they have shown for the project.”
The Connected Hubs and Western Development Commission
Connected Hubs is a Government of Ireland initiative, supported by The Department of Rural and Community Development (DRCD). One of the commitments provided in the Government’s five-year rural development policy (Our Rural Future) is to establish a comprehensive and integrated national network of 400 Remote Working Hubs by 2025.
Connected Hubs was launched in 2021 and there are currently just over 300 hubs onboarded onto the network and over 10,000 users. The booking platform www.connectedHubs.ie is a one-stop shop for hubs throughout Ireland. Launched in May 2021, it is designed to simplify and standardise the process of sourcing and 3 booking spaces, desks, offices and events in hubs.
